2. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted on a server (VPS) operated by us. When you visit the site, the server automatically processes technical access data: IP address, date and time of access, requested URL, amount of data transferred, browser type and version, and the referring page. This data is technically required to operate, stabilise and secure the website (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). It is not combined with other data sources and is deleted automatically after a short period.
3. Local storage in your browser
To provide the website we store functional settings only locally in your browser (local storage): your language choice and the colour scheme (light/dark). This storage is strictly necessary for the service you request and does not require consent (Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG). No tracking takes place; the data never leaves your browser.
4. Google AdSense and consent management
We fund this website through advertising served by Google AdSense, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).
On your first visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a Google-certified consent management platform (based on the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework) shows you a consent dialog. There you decide whether Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar identifiers for personalised advertising.
- With your consent, personalised ads are shown; Google and, where applicable, other providers set cookies or identifiers (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG).
- Without consent, only so-called “limited ads” are shown: contextual ads without cookies and without personalised profiles.
Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; standard contractual clauses are used in addition. Further information: Google's privacy policy, how Google uses data from partner sites and the list of ad technology providers.
5. Changing or withdrawing your consent
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with effect for the future. Use the following button (also available in the footer of every page) to reopen the consent dialog:
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), objection to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21), and the right to withdraw any consent you have given at any time (Art. 7(3)). An email to the address above is sufficient to exercise these rights.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), e.g. the Saxon Commissioner for Data Protection and Transparency.
